Mission of 1901 & Today

On behalf of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Manchester, we thank you for choosing Manchester, a community rich in history of manufacturing since the 1700's, with the creation of Pitkin Glass and Cheney Silk Mills mid 1800's.
Your facility is part of history, but more importantly, the future of Manchester.

In 1901, 35 Manchester businessmen created the Businessmen's Association; the goals of the Association was to forward the mercantile (silk mills) manufacturing, agricultural and civic interests of the Town. 116 years later, the name has changed, but the goals and missions of the now Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) have not. We're here "to make Manchester a better place to live, work, and do business."

The GMCC prides itself in the support and involvement in workforce development, education, and the promotion of business. We believe that what is good for business is good for the community. When businesses prosper and proper education is provided, this leads to new jobs, thus businesses growing and staying right here in Manchester. Your business is important to the economy of Manchester.
We encourage you to call on us for assistance.
